Henry Saywell is delighted to present Painter Maker, bringing together the paintings of Phil Ashcroft and makings of SIBLEYSPARLING in a display of works to enhance your environment and mood.

Though the result of very different processes the canvases of graphic artist Phil Ashcroft and the furniture of designer SIBLEYSPARLING do share remarkable similarities.

Materials and process drive SIBLEYSPARLING’s design ethos, creating pieces that consist of clean lines and functionality interspersed with a splash of colour. Her inventiveness combining materials to see how they interact and the conversations that can be formed in colour, texture and form create her unique bespoke homeware pieces.

For Painter Maker SIBLEYSPARLING will show work from her ‘Låda’ collection alongside a selection of new designs, including work from a collaboration with textile designer Sunny Todd.

Phil Ashcroft’s gestural, emotive paintings combine a flattened out 1980s style art deco and graffiti influences, with references to American abstraction which often threaten to overwhelm the upper sections of his canvases. For Painter Maker he presents new, and previously unseen, small and medium-scale works.
